Northfleet Girls School learn with Taktix
During Business and Enterprise week, a business and enterprise board game was organised for our Sixth Formers. The questions ranged from GCSE level through to A Level standard. Each group had a Taktix representative available to elaborate on any questions the students weren't sure of and as business entrepreneurs, who better to answer a question?
Taktix - "A Taste of Enterprise" is suitable for students of all ages at Key Stage 3 and above and can be played at three levels - beginners, intermediate and advanced. Teachers need no additional training in order to take advantage of the full educational benefits of the game and to meet the new enterprise elements of the changing curriculum. Students gain a good introduction to business and can learn in a fun environment getting to grips with business concepts and terminology. They also learn that in business anything can happen and that preparing beforehand and taking advice are important lessons.
Opportunities and challenges come along reflecting the many highs and lows of everyday business life taking in such issues as IT, the environment, insurance, overdrafts, changing markets and much more.
With the online version at the click of a mouse the answers are there if you take the time to look. The game is not just about winning - it's about finding the right information and making decisions based upon that knowledge. Printable reports at the end of each game identify knowledge gaps and teachers can download Taktix Schools Workbooks for every student, packed full of business and enterprise information and activities.
This makes the online game ideal as an entertaining introduction to business as well as an excellent revision tool for all students. Throughout the game there are lots of opportunities to link to top tips and independent advice from the relevant pages of the Business Link website.
'Some questions I found difficult and it made me realise what areas I need to revise for my A Levels. I will now use the online version to help me revise as I know that if I get stuck, the 'help' hyperlink will take me to a report for me to find the right answer. As a team member of the winning team, I enjoyed using my negotiating and team building skills. I recommend it.'
